We received a reader’s request to cover the song in Kia’s 2013 Soul Hamster Commercial with “In My Mind” by Feenixpawl ft. Georgi Kay and produced by Ivan Gough from the Australian dance music duo TV Rock. “In My Mind” is the 5th single released by Feeniexpawl. Georgi Kay is also credited with writing the music with Feeniexpawl.
According to the youtube video description, this commercial has declared that the Hamsters are going back in time and are “bringing down the house, only it’s an 18th century opera house”. The video commercial starts out with a woman singing in the classical, operatic style. In the background, ballerinas can be seen twirling around as the floor begins to open up to show the newest Kia Soul. And that’s when it happens – the Kia Hamsters reveal themselves to be behind the stage production. The maestro pulls off his mask to reveal his furry face and so do the rest of his cohorts as the music turns from 18th Century fare to bumping beats and flashing lights of a dance par-tay.
According to the following article, this commercial debuted “across 18,000 movie theaters… (as well as) the MTV Music Awards” which were held on September 6th, 2012. Feenixpawl is currently on tour in the US. Check out their website for tour dates and locations.
