This might be the first ad we’ve posted with classic punk rock in it! This British Airways ad uses the Clash’s well-known “London Calling” as a rallying cry for the 2012 Olympic Games. It features a jet riding through the streets of London. We agree with some that the song has some lyrics that make it questionable for advertising, namely pessimistic imagery of an apocalyptic London, but the main “London Calling” lyric and recognizability of it will probably cause few to think twice about it. We’re big fans of the song and think it makes for an interesting ad.
