Summer, concerts, and beer. They go together like chips, salsa, and also beer. This new Bud Light commercial wants you to know that if you drink their beer (or as my craft brewing enthusiast friends would call it “beer”) you can win lots of stuff, like big headphones and tickets to shows. Sounds like a good deal. I mean, if you”re going to be drinking Bud Light, I guess you might as well be getting something out of it.
The song in this commercial is a tune called I Miss the Misery by the band Halestorm. I had never heard of Halestorm prior to this commercial, but apparently they are a Grammy winning group fronted by sibling music prodigies, so it is definitely time for me to catch up. I Miss the Misery is a song written about Lizzy and Arejay Hale’s parent’s divorce, and it’s twisted lyrics are about missing having someone to fight with. Attention people in dramatic relationships: you’ve just found your summer anthem.
You can catch Halestorm on tour this summer. Buy a Bud Light and maybe you can even win some tickets.
Oh ooh oooh
I miss the bad things
The way you hate me
I miss the screaming
The way that you blame me
Miss the phone calls
