This Chevy Traverse commercial is adorable. What could touch your heart more than a little girl and her band of fuzzy circus freaks? That jolly band of freaks set to the tune of “My Friends” by Frenetic Sound!
The song and imagery in this ad are incredibly well-matched. The calm, joyful, song is the perfect pairing for this girl and her puppety buddies, as they get ready for the day, and pile into Mom’s Chevy.
I had an imaginary friend when I was a kid. His name was Alec. He was a fox. He liked to make forts, and read. He was just regular imaginary, though. He didn’t live inside of a stuffed animal. And a good thing, too. At that time, there were three of us kids in the house – there hardly would have been room for everyone in my mom’s little gold Taurus.
And to be real, my mom was a busy lady. She wouldn’t have had much patience for us to buckle up an entire troop of stuffed animals. Safety be damned, we’ve got places to be.
But Alec was there. He was safe, because he was a fox, you see. And foxes are clever. He could shrink himself down to ride on my shoulder, and read there, or snuggle under the seat belt. We had a good thing going.
This Chevy girl was just showing off.
My friends are all around me
My friends they do surround me
Don’t matter the time of day
They’re always ready to play with me
My friends they do astound me
Jump up jump down around me
I hope this never ends
And we’ll be the best of friends
