Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Dell wants to play on your love emotions with a spot featuring some super adorable teens. In the commercial the girl half of a pair of stargazing crushers moves away to the big city where the bright lights drown out her constellations. To win her heart the enterprising Billy uses his fancy Dell to make her a video of the night sky she misses so much. And as a star loving lady (I was in the Junior Astronomers Club in elementary school, true story) living in a city full of light pollution, I melted just a little.
The song, You Remind me of Home by Benjamin Gibbard, is pretty perfect in the literal sense. Because Billy is going to have to keep reminding her of home if they’re going to make this long distance relationship work. Here’s hoping Billy goes to college in the city soon. Or ages 10 years and then calls me.
