The Golden Age - Fruit

Now this is fun one that Martin brought to our attention through our request form. This Heineken commercial is in the same style of (but predates) the other Heineken commercial we wrote about in June and the other other Heineken commercial we wrote about in May. (Almost time for a Heineken commercial round-up, maybe?) In all three spots, a handsome, well-dressed man is involved in some cool stuff going down in an old time-looking bar/restaurant establishment of sorts with a big band playing and people in fancy clothes dancing all over the place.

In this one, the dude passes paparazzi while walking to the front door of the place. Once inside, a wide variety of people eagerly say hello to him and give him hugs and handshakes and bows. He is friendly and also a little tricky in a fun, slick way–at one point he plays the “got your nose” game, but with an old dude’s fake eyeball. Finally, cute, curly-haired guy grabs a flute and joins the band. I wish I could witness a musician actually enter a venue this way. I’d probably blush and instantly fall in love and need a friend to help me over to the nearest fainting couch. Oh yeah, the commercial is rightly titled, “The Entrance.”

This Heineken commercial song is by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour and fits perfectly. The Danish pop band is led by female vocalist Mette Lindberg. We think it’s actually her in the commercial, too. The spot came out in 2011, but they’re still playing it on television now. Keep up the good work, Heineken’s ad agency!
