Tonight Is the Night - Tonight Is the Night - Single

Two weeks ago Jamie posted about this exact same song in a Pizza Hut commercial, and now it’s back, baby, from the minds at Honda.  We had about a billion requests for this one (thanks to Kell, Hung, Amy, PG, give or take nearly a billion), so hopefully all of those readers will sleep well tonight, their dreams fulfilled.  So…request a song and sleep wellForever.

Outasight’s “Tonight is the Night” is the featured Honda commercial song, and they pounced on it with fervor.  It feels like the opening credits for a hypothetical sitcom where three new college grads look for jobs and get into wacky hijinks with their Honda, following an age-old sitcom formula: New Civic Driver is the brains, Wingman is the looks, and Other Guy?  He’s the wild card.

When I bought my Civic it was exactly like this.  Exactly.  Except I was with my mom, and we drove away rocking out to the last 42 seconds of “Cold As Ice” and my mom was all, “Can you roll up the windows? Why does it have to be so loud? Please don’t blow out your speakers on the first day.  Now, make sure that tomorrow you buy insurance, you don’t want to be driving around without insurance” and I was all, “Gah, I know, Mom.”  Other than that, simpatico.

I’ve been feeling real good, came a long way from misunderstood
Far away from the days where I wouldn’t wanna go home cuz I was afraid of the truth
See I was scared to admit that failing was in the back of my head

I want a Civic. Ha, I don’t even know your mom and I can imagine the conversation you had with her.

Also, the comment about sleeping well forever could also be read as a death threat. Ha.
