Song: Show You How
Artist: Tony Rogers
Dog’s are the greatest. Don’t get me wrong; I love a good cat, but when it comes down to it, when all you want is someone to love only to get more love in return, dogs just can’t be beat. I can’t pass a dog on the street without staring wide-eyed, holding back the stupidest grin on my face (and muffling an exasperated exclamation of “DAWG.”). And believe me, dogs love me right back, sometimes even more than their owners. Probably has something to do with me giving the best back scratches because I go to town with it. I’d say I’m sorry, but it makes me too happy.
It’s that very type of affection and pet-affinity that the latest Purina Pro Plan commercial aims to connect with. How better to than by asking dog owners to contribute video footage of what makes their dogs great and creating a montage? Just look at all these talented beasts. I want them all delivered to my door step to bring together the most talented dog-pile ever and to dole out the world’s best back scratches to each and every one of them.
“Show You How” by Tony Rogers is the song featured in the latest Pro Plan commercial. Rogers vocalizes what dogs can’t say, even if their unconditional love and happy obedience is transparent. Surely it rings true, that Inside every good dog is a great dog, and owners have a right to be proud about it. Aside from his original commercial pieces (and skillfully filling the role of an advertising Creative Director), Rogers also released material as part of the band The Good, and more recently a solo album.
I’m about to show you what I’m made to be
You’re about to see me in my prime
If anybody asks you what it takes to be
Tell them they’ll just have to get in line
Great, great, tell you how I’m great
Great is what you fire me up to do
Wait, wait, show you how I’m great
I’m great whenever I’m along with you
