Overwhelmed - Single - Tim McMorris

In by request, right now comin’ atchya, let’s talk about the adorable, motivational singer/songwriter Tim McMorris, who wrote this Sam Adams commercial song, a lesson in friendship and beer.

McMorris  has an eclectic musical catalog – one second he’s knee-deep in sweet, happy ballads, the next he’s snapping out rhotic hip hop.  But he really struck gold with “Overwhelmed” when the fine brewers at Sammy Adams decided he perfectly captured how they feel about their beer: THEY EFFING LOVE IT.

Beer is the first thing they want to see in the morning and the last thing they want touching their lips before bed, they love just joshin’ around the monstrous, shining copper vats full of candy lagers and unicorn brews.  Heck, Jim Koch bathes in the stuff, which looks wicked sticky but wicked fun, just like everything else in Boston.  The nice word for all of this, by the way, is alcoholism.

And if that’s alcoholism, give it to me.  I want all of it.  All of the alcoholism.  For the love of beer and all that is good and pure, it is mine.  I want to wake up in the morning with a fistful of lagers, I want to love my beer and I want my beer to love me, to make me laugh and show me how…omg wait. Scroll down, hit play, and let’s have Tim McMorris finish that thought:

You make me laugh and show me how
just how good this life can be
And in our moments filled with joy
is where I live where I am free
Lay in my arms, I’ll hold you tight
just like you like continually
And I am overwhelmed by you

Booyah.

Wow. You taught me a new word–rhotic. Thank you. No sarcasm, either. I am grateful. What a cool word.

I have been looking for an excuse to use that word ever since I learned it.
