Hot dog, who is that sexy beast?
- everyone who sees this commercial
Hey Jamason (and all of the other anonymous readers who requested this Southern Comfort commercial), thanks for this. With a name like that, we should’ve known you’d want something boozy.
Odetta’s deep, graceful voice is THE JAM. It feels round and effortless, it’s the breeze that cools the worthy. When you walk down the beach drinking SoCo on the rocks, is her depth your soundtrack? You wish you could pull this off. But no – it’s reserved for the glistening, casual confidence only a mostly-naked bull of a man can muster, a man that saunters his gut through slim beach bodies like a boss. He could be homeless, orphaned, cancerous and cruel, but here? Now? He owns that beach. And he knows it. Look! Shaggy Dog knows it too, Shaggy Dog is all, “Yeeeeah buddy. This is our beach. Posers. I’m shaggy and I’m wet. Wut.”
The sheer radiance of this whole thing is bearing down a mighty thirst.
Oh, can’t you see
I gotta be me
Ain’t nobody just like this
I gotta be me
Baby hit or miss
Sittin’ here all by myself
Trying to be everybody else
Can’t you see,
I gotta be me?
Ain’t nobody just like this
I gotta be me
Baby hit or miss
Look at you sittin there
All by yourself
Listenin to everybody
Everybody say be everybody else
