Song: Insomnia (Monster Mix) – Forever Faithless – The Greatest Hits
Diet pills?!?! That scene from Empire Records is the first thing that comes to mind when I saw the new Xenadrine commercial. First and foremost, I would like to say that I in no way promote the use of diet pills for weight loss. In fact I think that most diets, cleanses, etc. are just b-s and if you really want to lose weight then just eat right (portion control yo) and work out. Unfortunately that is too hard for some people and commercials like this one for Xenadrine just make diet pills look so darn fun and easy. In this commercial, some pretty ladies wearing next to nothing smack a floor and a giant box of Xenadrine pops up along with a party full of other attractive people in white outfits. I have no clue what this commercial has to do with the product. Nada. The people look good, but come on, we all know that they don’t take diet pills. They just have good genes and don’t eat… so who is buying into this? Please don’t tell me you do. I will be sad for you if you do.
There is some discussion on YouTube as the song in this commercial sounds like Swedish House Mafia, however the song is actually Insomnia by Faithless. Faithless is a British electronica trio. This trio, who have been together since 1995, has officially broken up, so I hope you weren’t planning on checking them out live, however you can download their tunage. Their song Insomnia, was their second single and one of their most successful songs. The albumn version is nearly 9 minutes long, so if you decide to download this, get ready for a musical commitment. Personally I find the video a little bit creepy and am pretty sure it could give me nightmares… which is not quite Insomnia, but it’s close.
